A superb volume that would make an ideal gift. It is James Backhouse Walker’s diary of the walk to the West Coast of Tasmania by a group of prominent men in 1887. This book was sympathetically edited by Dr Michael Stoddart and the commentary fully enriches the publication. The real bonus, however, must be the wonderfully presented colour plates by W.C. Piguenit. This is a very fine hard cover book. (76 pages)
